about

The most upbeat, poppiest song on the record. It's about not being able to trust the various authorities that are supposedly in place to look after us. When recording I had in mind music like Polvo, GBV, and local stuff like Thighmaster. The lead guitar part was a lot of fun to record, I wanted it to be really messy. The 'middle 8' section was pretty tricky for my limited guitar skills though: I wanted a part that was an arpeggio that reversed direction every second repetition.

lyrics

It don't matter what you want, you know the plan.
This whole chapter plays out in the palm of your hand
And it always ends the same. It always ends the same,
It always ends the way as specified by your name.

Always, always.
Do we really have to video everything you say?

It don't matter what you say, you've made your mind.
You thought it all out as you came up from behind.
And it always ends the same, it always ends the same.
It's always justified by the signing of your name.

Always, always.
Do we really have to justify everything we say?
